====== ADAC DriveDot T9200 ======

I was false-advised into vehicle insurance and got an ADAC DriveDot T9200 for "fahr&spar Telematik". \\
With ADAC it is necessary to use your car for 20days/month to collect stars in an app, which then should reduce dues *(at date of writing in 2025). As I only move the car less than 7 days per month, I have changed the contract but could keep the DriveDot. \\

🗒️ Note: The app is as bad as many other banking apps: You need microG/google play 🤮 And to pass <del>SafetyNet</del>/play-integrity check, root is needed, which is prohibited with these apps - so you need to also hide root. \\

⚠Warning: Do not cheat with things that are bound to contracts - it is illegal. Just don't do it. I only show the hardware used, I have not altered software in any kind. No, I will not dig deeper into the system. I've just opened the case as it is just clicked (not screwed, nor glued).

💰💸 You think things will be cheaper if you use apps? Maybe till the critical mass is not reached. On long term it will be the regular price and more expensive for people who do not sell their data / statistics - think about it. 🤑 Don't be Scrooge on the wrong end. \\

===== Info =====
As seen in the photos, DriveDot is model T9200 and from [[https://portal.trakglobal.co.uk/AboutUs/Index|Trak Global Group Ltd (UK)]]. Input is marked as 3V with 50mA printed on the outside. Inside, next to the 2x CR2450L coin cells it is labeled with 20mA. There are also 4 pads next to the coin cell contacts, I guess it is for a UART-connection. \\
MCU is [[https://www.insightsip.com/products/bluetooth-le-modules/isp1907|ISP1907]], which has a nRF52 Cortex-M4 core - interesting is that it has an integrated antenna and is certified with an [[https://fccid.io/2AAQS-ISP1907|FCC-ID]]. It is basically a module as BGA IC. \\

There is an accelerometer on the PCB. Data is stored on a storage IC - I believe it also works without the phone connected via BT and then later gets synced. Noticeable is that the SOP-8 IC can be broken off the rest of the PCB and has THT pads. 
Besides usual test points, there is a 2x4 pin header row on the back of the PCB, which has residues of soldering tin and is probably the programming header for the MCU. \\
