====== Meizu M6 miniPlayer ====== Meizu M6 miniPlayer is a music player - unfortunately, Meizu chose to reuse the "M6" model name later for an Android phone. Therefore it is hard to find information nowadays. Here you can find some info and archived files for the miniPlayer. \\ ===== Downloads ===== Download skins here: http://meizu.ucoz.ru/load/ and here https://meizu.at.ua/load/ \\ Changelog FW 2.004.6: archived MeizuFans \\ If you want to use a star-rated system, get FW 1.x \\ I have archived the following data myself: \\ some FW versions: \\ some skins: \\ created skin: \\ official downloads here (e.g. DFU-tools): https://service.meizu.com/soft_down.html <- also for M3 \\ For a guide see: archived meizume FAQ \\ ===== Technical ===== https://www.rockbox.org/wiki/MeizuM6Port: Rockbox was never fully ported to M6 as it was discontinued by Meizu, you can find technical info on Rockbox page. If you need Rockbox, consider Sandisk Sansa series players. \\ Download Schematics: here and here \\ Fun fact: The hardware was developed by Meizu, the software was bought from 3rd-party company. \\ M6SL and M3 have DAC from Wolfson, whereas M6TP and SP use Philips UDA1380HN. The player received so much good reviews as the EQ was/is state of the art and plays several files like FLAC, OGG and video too. \\ Slimmer M6SL has relocated the play/pause button to the lower 'return'-button on touchpad. \\ Dane-Elec is the European distribution of the player: Volume is limited to 33 and there is no FM. Reflash FW to remove restrictions. Go to wikipedia for more info. \\ There used to be accessories like a desk stand and even a portable speaker called mDock. \\ If you ever wondered how to finish level-2 of BoxMan, see the video here: \\ ====== archived links ====== meizume-FAQ \\ pl forum: https://forum.mp3store.pl/forum/153-meizu/ \\ https://web.archive.org/web/20100619105236/http://www.meizume.com/miniplayer-m6-sl \\ https://web.archive.org/web/*/anythingbutipod.com \\ meizume themes for browsing (no DL possible) \\ archived abi M6 review \\ M6SL review \\ ====== Touchpad ====== ===== re-calibrate ===== guide on some spanish blog: > Re-calibrate the touchpad: > while player is turned on, press 'Enter'-key for 3+ seconds. Then press the ON/OFF(PLAY button) without anything touching the touchpad and it will be re-calibrated. ===== capacitor fix ===== > The player will not turn on if the capacitors on the flex cable of the touchpad are broken! \\ #TODO: Guide to change SMD capacitors on touchpad flex cable. (which capacity again?) \\ ====== Flash storage replacement ====== It is possible to change the flash storage IC (Samsung) to upgrade storage. De-solder flash IC, solder in new IC, reformat and reflash firmware. \\ SP version with 4GB/8GB uses (1x/2x) Samsung K9HCG08U1M-PCB0 in TSOP48 package. \\ //Idea: would 64G-bit chips work? Test with K9K8G08U0A-PCB0.// \\ ====== Battery replacement ====== Inside SP version player is a generic 404343 battery - so with IEC LiPo sizing convention, it is 4.0x43x43 (Height x Width x Length in mm). \\ Buy a generic 404040 battery (~600mAh) to replace the original one cheaply - sometimes 304040 is cheaper and sufficient. \\ //What size is inside SL slim player? Does 304040 fit?// \\
